I graduated from physio therapy classes on Wednesday. Even though my knee extension is still not ideal, they, and I, didn't think the physio classes were of any further benefit. There is a wait list for folks coming off surgery so I felt my space should be opened. My PT took me through the "test" and I did all of the movements just fine. I practically outrun her on the oval track!
Thursdays are now committed to a very crazy aquafit. I thought I would die by the end of it! I see quite a few of the group have knee scars and several of us are "recent". Our instructor has had both of her knees done. She asked those of us with "new" knees to come a half hour earlier starting next week. She is going to put float belts on us and give us an extra half hour of torture. We had a bit of a chat after the class and I remarked that physio worked our operated limb quite hard but the rest of the body was sadly neglected. Debbie said "not for long".
I came home, took a Tylenol 3 with a cuppa tea and went to bed for the afternoon. No worries, I'll soon be in fighting form.
Our weather is taking a very welcome turn for the better. I'm so looking forward to getting out and about again. My walking is very much improved. I don't need the cane and my gait doesn't look so wonky anymore. That's all my own effort, so the more I do it the better it will get. Pain levels are good - except of course on the days when I REALLY exert myself. That's going to improve too.
