Is it warm enough for ya"?

Remember when everyone would ask this during heat waves? These days people don't often talk to each other on the street. Well Ontario folks, things are about to change!! I'm awfully excited about the changes in our restrictions. My shopping list is quite long so I'm pretty excited about the shops opening again.

The end is in sight on that quilt I've been working on. I have one more striped panel to sew on the front. With any luck that will happen tomorrow. Now that the shops are opening I can get the backing. With any luck my baby daughter will get it in time for her 40th birthday.

With the extreme heat and humidity, M. took the day off and settled in to do some work here at home. He got all the plumbing roughed in down in the laundry room. He was having a chuckle about seeing funky plumbing in buildings over the years. After working on ours he twigged that it was due to various renovations being done over time. We had to shift our pipes over several feet. The last plumber that worked on the pipes in this house did some kind of puzzle that we had a hard time making sense of. It would have been the contractor that put in the hot water tank about twenty years ago.

We have lots of turtles trying to lay eggs out on our road.

  1. Hello, dropping in from Malaysia. We would be using this phrase ALL the time as it is a heat wave everyday at 31 C. Please to hear that Ontario is opening up again. We are experiencing the 3rd wave and have been put on total count down. Hope you get the quilt to your 'baby' on time!!!

  2. It is encouraging to have phase 1 moved up by a few days, and new case rates have reached lows not seen since last September.

  3. Yay for the new opening date on Friday. Couldn't come soon enough. So much of it never made sense to me in the first place, especially when stores and restaurants were complying with all the restrictions. Dumb. I'm anxious to empty our Bunky of the 3 or 4 bags (a trunkload for sure) of clothing donations.
And to answer your first question: YES!

  4. Too warm!! I work outside mornings, come in, shower and take the PM off! Looking forward to the more reasonable temps. in the forecast. Doesn't it feel strange to get a little giddy over being able to shop! I have a small list, and am looking forward to a visit to the Bay soon. I desperately need new boots, so will be checking in Afelskies!
The turtle, MIA last summer, appears to be back and is basking on the mud bank of the pond this year.

    1. I love Afelskies in Killaloe. Sean is so helpful. My Birkenstocks have to be special ordered. We are seeing lots of Blandings and Painted turtles around and about. So far our snappers are MIA. We had a huge girl living in the neighbours pond. She will show up when we least expect her, and probably draw a crowd.
