Taste of The Valley Episode One

Daughter and I headed to Eganville early, hoping to beat the most intense heat of the day.

We had to park a fair distance from the venue, but I was under the shade of a tree, which was a bonus. I did want to do some walking so we fared pretty well in that respect. The difficult part was tromping UPHILL at the end.

This episode of T.O.V. (there are four) was well laid out. The outdoor vendors were all under canopy for shade.  There was quite a large fan blowing inside the arena that had the place quite comfortable. We didn't spend a lot of $$ but we got good value.  The next episode will be in our own community and further into harvest, and closer to Christmas, so I will have to save my pennies until the end of August.

On the way home we stopped at a Mennonite market. It was a bustling place! I bought corn, dill, and onions. A little lad came rolling up with a wagon load of corn fresh from the field.

We got back home shortly after noon and were happy to be back as it was getting HOT.

  1. C.P. did that vendors thing yesterday. I’ll drop a post in a bit. Where is that market?

  2. Did think of going to Eganville for TOV, but got busy in the garden. All spiffed up and watered ready for the next few days of heat. Picked up some corn earlier in the week from McGregor's. Think they picked it a tad too soon!
