Change is in the air

We hopped into the little red suv and went for our weekly wander. We didn't go far. We had some errands in mind. None the less, we took the back roads and enjoyed the trip. I think our favorite part was getting the odd whiff of wood smoke from chimneys here and there.

We circled back around the lake on our return trip. The lake had an angry beauty about it today. We let the princess hop in for her last swim of the season.

I sleep with my bedroom window open a crack until the temperature is consistently below zero. The neighbour had his wood burner going last night. It's a comforting scent.

  1. We feel the same way when driving down the road and getting the scent of wood burning.
    Stay Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  2. Our windows are still open. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sue has the fan on over there. I’ll see later.

  3. I love the term "angry beauty." It's perfect. Glad the princess got a swim! Yes, very cool of late but not quite 0 (or 32 in our case). Getting there, though.

  5. Back roads are the best.
There is a definite change in the air now.
