I picked up my camera to take a photo of this
When a distraction just to the left of the smaller left tree caught my eye
This young lad stepped out of the mist and wandered over to check out the brush we cut a couple of days ago. My dog and cat were in the yard but none of them were paying any mind.
I'm hoping it is the same young fellow I got the trail camera photos of in the spring.
We had a momma and twins around for awhile, so we hope this is one of her youngsters staying in the territory. There is safety and plenty of food in the immediate area. There is a pond just across the road if he needs to take a dip and enjoy some lily pads.
But back to my regularly scheduled post:

I just walked up the path to collect the chip in the camera and this fellow had been to visit a few minutes before!!!
Is that a moose or an elk? In any event, what a marvelous sight! You have the best dishwashing view I have ever seen!

ReplyDeleteThank you! We are so happy the moose are being seen frequently around here. For years they were missing. Those photos aren't the greatest, but an early morning and drifting whisps of fog give some atmosphere.

ReplyDeleteYou are certainly getting wildlife. I hope your moose stays and thrives. We only seem to have bears in the spring, although there is a neighbour who found one in her kitchen. She was very calm about the whole thing, she assures me. I would not be.
ReplyDeleteSome folks up the highway had one in their kitchen too! I suspect they raid my compost pit at night. We've had a lone coyote here a couple of times too.
