It was pretty darn cold when I woke up this morning BUT THE SUNSHINE!
After I turn out the light for the night I crack open the blinds on the east facing window. By the middle of May I won't want to do that as the sun will be waking me a crazy hour.
Dear Daughter and I had coffee and a bit of shopping this morning. It wasn't a big shop. We both needed a couple of essentials is all. After that adventure we hopped up the highway about 5km to Richies Nursery. It was positively steamy in that place after the cold outdoors. I've decided to grow a longish row of a variety of sunflowers, so more seeds were bought.
The forecast is for a fine afternoon.
Cold, but so wonderful to finally see the sun!
ReplyDeleteRichies Nursery?? Where is that please?
Half way between Pembroke and Petawawa. Some interesting plants there.
DeleteThe sunflowers will be lovely. I don't have any luck growing them up on the Ridge so I will look forward to seeing pictures of yours.
ReplyDeleteI hope I can keep the chipmunks out of them.
Deletethere used to be a Richie's in Ottawa. Sad, it closed. Yes, the sun is certainly encouraging. Melt, melt, melt!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they still have a location somewhere in the area. I see them advertising on CTV Ottawa. I used to love Fines. They were close to my place when we lived just off Hunt Club back in the early 80s.
